Merci & Olivia enjoy giant marshmallows that we nuked in the microwave. You should have seen their faces as they grew to 6x size and turned into bubbling mushroom clouds.

A Birthday Poem for my love, Valerie Brown
I love birthdays. Not just my birthday. I love celebrating birthdays with anyone I love or care about. To me, it's the one time each year that we're reminded to focus on letting people know that we're glad they are a part of our lives. Has anyone ever come straight out and told you that your existence on this planet is positively effected because you're alive? A long time ago, somewhere in Bil Brown folklore, I got in the habit of telling people that "I was glad they were born" with that idea in mind. It's just a little way to let others know that I don't take their presence for granted.
Today is my lovely bride's birthday. When I think about my life, she has single-handedly had the biggest human impact on my destiny. Sure you could argue that perhaps my parents or siblings had a huge impact on me and that's true. However, marrying Valerie was an event that changed not only my present path but all future paths I will take. I can no longer envision life without her imprint on it. Meeting her was a completion of the plan.
I had all sorts of creative ideas for a way to celebrate her but a poem seemed to be the appropriate gift this year.
Valerie, I love you and am so proud to call you my wife (which rhymes with life)
love,
Bil
Uniquely you, perfect for me
I'm very glad that you were born
as my half-less self would be forlorn,
unsettled, wandering, inadequate,
would be life if we hadn't met
The laughs, the love and all things dear,
would not exist without you here.
Imaginings fail, I only see:
uniquely you, perfect for me.
If there are times you think or doubt.
Perhaps God lacked plans or it just "turned out"?
Look to our children: a beautiful display
of perfectly combined DNA.
