Strange and wonderful

Don't be surprised if someday you see me in the middle of something like this.

If we're honest, everyone loves being "flashed"

Here's the scoop: A flash mob hit Macy's in Center City on Saturday - 650 vocalists who, unknown to shoppers, had arranged to burst into song at noon. The whole thing is filmed and is really something to watch. Just try to watch this without smiling. In the video, everyone else is smiling too. Here are some things I learned or was reminded of by watching this video:

  • People love pleasant surprises.
  • We were made to worship but some folks just "sing the song"
  • We all find joy and meaning in being a part of something bigger than ourselves.
  • God made us as emotional beings that respond to art.
  • Pipe organs are still awesome.
  • Some moments are temporal cannot be accurately described or captured by cameraphone so it's best to just stop and enjoy them.
  • The devil is always popping up in unexpected places.
  • The big finish is still effective.
  • He shall reign forever and ever.

Check it out for yourself. How would you respond if that happened to you?
