YouTube - Lenny Kravitz crashes the VOP Choir in New Orleans for "Fly Away" CNN

So Lenny Kravitz is sipping on a drink in New Orleans, and he heard “some strange music” down the street that turned out to be a church choir rocking his hit song “Fly Away.” Kravitz joined in on the tune, delighting the young performers and creating a pretty awesome story for passersby. I love artists that love sharing their music with their fans. Those kids will never forget this.

The Blank Slate of Time

CC licensed image courtesy of Brenda Anderson

Lately in many of my social circles the subject of "how we spend our time" has come up. Balancing life and family with ministry, work, hobbies etc. seems to perplex most of us as we wrestle with trying to get everything we need to do accomplished with some time left for what we want to do. In that equation, the things "we should be doing" get swept under the rug. I came across this timely article on "Change This" and thought it would be good for all of us to read and discuss this weekend. Please read this very short PDF and share what you're thinking in the comments section below. No questions for direction, just your responses to the article and your personal experiences. Thanks!

Issue 71 - 06 168 Hours: The Blank Slate of Time
By Laura Vanderkam Published June 2, 2010 12:00 p.m.

“It is an unquestioned truth of modern life: we are all starved for time. With the rise of 2-income families, extreme jobs, and the ability to log on to the world around the clock, we can barely find time to breathe. At least that’s the way the story goes. Yet there are some people who don’t seem to feel this way. Not only do they have full personal and professional lives, they often claim they could fit more in if they wished! How do these people do so much with their time? How do they do so much and not even feel stressed about it?”
